It is time for another fun Fix-it Friday at I ♥ Faces. I strongly recommend that anyone interested in photography go check out their site. They have lots of great tutorial, challenges, and giveaways. I have learned so much just by participating in the challenges.
This was texture week at I ♥ Faces. For this fit-it Friday they recommended that we use a texture in our edits. Since I don’t use very many textures, I thought it would be fun.
Here is the original photo. I love the little snowman and the serious expression on the little girls face. In my edit I wanted to be sure that there was enough contrast between the jacket and the snowman, so you could really tell what she was holding. Then, I added the texture.

The first thing I did was warm up her face a bit, using a curves adjustment. Then I added a mask and inverted it so I could just paint the color correction on her face. I didn’t want to change the color of the rest of the photo. Then I increased the contrast, again using a curves adjustment. I added two textures from Nichole Van and then erased the texture off the subject. Then I cropped the photo and added a slight vignette. That’s it.
I think this is an adorable photo and I like how the edit turned out.

Here is the photo for this week’s edition:
Here is what I came up with:
First off, I cropped this photo. I don’t usually like angled crops, but on this photo it just worked for me. This is a busy photo. I like how cropping it on an angle made the people the main focus. I also like how it showcases the parents in the background more.
After that I just adjusted the white balance a bit and then I added some color pop to the rest of the photo. That’s about it!

I was lucky to be able to photograph two adorable babies this weekend. This is Ava’s cousin, Lilly. They are exactly one week apart! But you wouldn’t know it from looking at them. Ava was so much bigger and had so much hair. Lilly actually looks like a newborn
This session was a bit harder, and I know her mom was getting frustrated. But Lilly finally calmed down and I think we got some adorable shots!
