Yay! It’s Friday and that means it is time for Fix-it-Friday at I ♥ Faces. Each week they post a photo that was taken by someone who follows the blog at I ♥ Faces. Then a few contributors edit the photo and then they ask anyone else who would like to play along to edit the photo too. It is great practice and a fun way to learn new editing tricks.
Here is this week’s photo:

This photo captures a cute expression on this little girl’s face. It was a bit overexposed on one side and there was a lot of clutter in the background. First, in ACR I brought the brightness down a bit. Then I opened it in PS CS4 and color corrected the skin using the CMYK numbers method. Next I ran Noiseware to clean up some of the noise. After that I worked on cleaning up the background. I used the marquee tool to sample a part of the background from the left side and I dragged it over and pasted it on the right side. I used a mask and erased it off the subject until I thought it looked right. Then I decided to add a texture, just to add a little more to the image.
