I love newborn macro photography. I have been wanting to purchase a macro lens for a while now. A few weeks ago I decided to go ahead and do it. I bought the Canon 100mm F/2.8L. I was able to use it at my most recent newborn session, but not as much as I wanted to. As I reviewed the images I took with it, I started to get excited to use it again. I can’t wait for my next newborn session. I have so many fun ideas for this new lens!

I had the pleasure of photographing this adorable 7 1/2 month old little boy last week. We decided to do an early morning session and it was really nice. It felt really peaceful being out there so early. The lighting was beautiful just as the sun came up, but clouds rolled in shortly after that. Still, we did have some nice light and we got some sweet shots of this cute family. I loved just watching them all interact. It was so cute to see how in love with their little boy they both were!

I introduced this adorable newborn baby girl a few days ago. She was so much fun to photograph. She was so funny! She let me know every time I did something that she didn’t like. She never really cried, she just kind of yelled at me.

I had such a hard time narrowing down my favorite photos. I took so many and I loved how they turned out.

She was feisty at first, but she finally gave in and slept like a champ. I got so many great shots I had such a hard time picking my favorite.
